Between 13,000 and 30,000 Civilians Dead

3:57 PM

Think about it. IraqBodyCount.net is a source that has compiled all the civilian deaths they can find reported by various media outlets. They have the figure between 14,000 and 16,000. Hello America? I hate to be disillusioned, as I love my America, and being Right, but the truth is the truth: We are wrong. Our invasion of Iraq has killed 14,000 civilians in Iraq. That is a stadium. That is wrong. If there were terrorists holed up in New York, or even, say, the Michigan Militia was holed up in Detroit attacking the Police, would we cluster bomb the city to smoke them out? Or would we find some other way to protect our safety? What are we doing? How can I stop this? Do I need to get into the streets to protest our actions? Do I need to stop paying taxes? What can I do as a concerned citizen who sees us killing the people we want to liberate?

As the people in Sudan (the million+ refugees) struggle to live, and are still being attacked, and plead for our help, we continue to fight Iraqi civilians (along with Baathists and al Qaeda).

I welcome all suggestions.

Yes and no.

Yes something should have been done about Sudan a LONG time ago. No, in that I believe something should also have been done about Iraq a long time ago as well. I'm sure you have some more practical solution for dealing with terrorist, like inviting them over for tea? Civilian body counts will always be skewed expecially considering the source. Funny thing is that there are plenty of civilian deaths being reported: it's called terror bombings--you know like the stuff we are trying to stop.

Hang in there. Read Iraqthemodel.blogspot.com for the real story out of Iraq.

As for carpet bombing, I'm sorry to see you using language that means nothing considering we have not resorted to true carpet bombing since WW2.

One more note on Sudan. It's not just a matter of a bunch of people stuggling to live. Rather it's a Muslim theocratic religious war against an infidel (read: Christian) south.

Thanks for putting up with me.

Hmm let me try again:

Wow that's a speedy one. I used "cluster bomb" which we are doing. We also used depleted uranium. We lost 3,000 friends and relatives on 9/11 and it destroyed us. Iraq has now lost as much as 100,000 (although I trust the iraqbodycount.net source more). What is your problem with the Iraqbodycount.net source?

Yes many of them (although not most) are due to insurgent attacks. So what? We are not doing a good job of stopping them obviously; our plan to destroy terrorism is not working. We have caused a rise in terrorism.

As I understand the Sudan situation in Darfur it's Arabic muslims vs. black muslims, not muslim vs. Christian.

I have detailed my plans to fight terrorism elswhere here. http://www.freedomfry.org/2004/11/iraq-bait.php

Still would welcome your thoughts on how to end the civilian deaths in Iraq.
