Half-truths from Half-wits

4:46 PM

As the dust begins to settle, the public is getting a better look at the proposed changes Bush would like to make to Social Security and some of the doomsday language he used to push the envelope. For example, this article by Factcheck examines the President's misleading use of the words "bankrupt" and "bankruptcy" to describe the situation and set the stage for his proposal to encourage private accounts. The actual value these private accounts would have, the article states, is also quite unlike what Bush says it is. It's a vital piece for those interested in getting the facts.

This article in Slate is an excellent analysis of how Bush and Kim Jong Il share quite a few traits and how Bush approaches his position.

Happy Friday folks!
